Diego F. Leal

Associate Professor, School of Sociology

Dr. Leal is broadly interested on the social network aspects of relational inequalities, particularly as they manifest in the emergence and evolution of international migration dynamics and minority health outcomes. On those two fronts, he is currently working on analyzing the enforced disappearance of international migrants and asylum seekers carried out by the U.S. government on U.S. soil and on the relationship between social networks and adolescent health behaviors, with a focus on depression and the use of nicotine products. Dr. Leal has expertise on inferential network analysis and agent-based computational models.
